Here is some information from the Internet: Does not look like there is anything rare or special about a Gors & Kallman upright. The company appears to be one of the many hundreds of near-forgotten piano makers that thrived early on the 20th century. Obviously as a usable instrument it is junk, and would cost as much to renovate as it would to buy a good new piano. They were said to have a deep, rich tone from the resonant soundboard, but that is typical of pianos of that vintage, so maybe the soundboard makes is worth saving, but an old soundboard is not worth 6,000 dollars. The keyboard is a mess and the action is ancient and obsolete. Possibly it has been owned by someone famous, but how would the person that offered 6,000 dollars know that?

If anyone famous had owned it I should have been able to find out too, but I can find nothing. If I were offered any significant amount for a piano in that state I'd snap the buyer's hand off. There is slight risk that I'd regret it, if it (the piano, not the buyer's hand) turned out to be worth much more, but it is a risk I'd take.
